TONGS
TONGS
SKU:384A
Skidding tongs are made from round high-carbon steel with heavy, upset, hammer-forged points or hooks that bite into logs without needing to hammer them like competitors' laser cut points. Known for its stiffness and extra strength, high-carbon steel makes these tools durable. The sides are evenly flattened at the pivot for a larger bearing surface, allowing for a shorter, larger-diameter pivot. Their shape ensures a solid grip on straddled logs and poles, while heat-treated hooks resist bending. Skidding tongs are designed for pulling or skidding materials and are not load-rated, so they should never be used for overhead lifting.
Timber lifting tongs are all tested, with each unit tagged with its rated load and a serial number, along with test data provided. Tags must remain on the tongs at all times, and the warranty becomes void if a tag is removed or altered.
