PIKE POLES
SKU:823-10
Pike poles are handy tools with many uses in various industries. In the pole-line industry, they are used to pike or support poles during setup, with the pike made from forged steel featuring an upset face to absorb end thrust and spread the force across the handle. The ferrule is malleable iron, secured with a rivet running through the ferrule, handle, and pike.
Ash pike poles are lightweight, stiff, strong, and smoothly finished, measuring 1-5/8" thick at the widest point and tapering to a knob at the end.
Fir pike poles are thicker in the middle—2-1/2"—and taper to 2" at both ends for strength and easy grip.
Aluminum pike poles are about 50% lighter than wood and stronger than top-grade ash, making them easier to handle and more efficient. Both 2" and 2-1/2" poles can come with a point guard that locks securely in place when closed to protect from the pike point.
Pikes are also widely used in logging and firewood industries to move large logs with easy, whether they are on land or in the water.
